The Role-
As a Blend Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our blending operations. Working closely with the Blend Shift Manager, you will coordinate shift activities, supervise production operatives, and ensure products are manufactured safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
You’ll also take full responsibility for the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities-
People & Leadership
Have you previously supervised or led a team in a production or manufacturing environment?
Are you experienced in managing holidays, sickness, and absence in line with company policy?
Have you trained staff on machinery, systems, safety, or hygiene procedures?
Have you conducted performance reviews or supported staff development?
Are you comfortable carrying out disciplinary procedures when required?
Quality & Compliance
Have you worked with quality standards in a manufacturing environment?
Are you experienced in completing production or quality documentation accurately and on time?
Have you previously managed non‑conformances or customer complaints?
Have you written or maintained Standard Operating Procedures?
Production Performance
Have you been responsible for achieving production targets or meeting a production schedule?
Have you worked closely with Engineering or Maintenance teams to minimise downtime?
Sanitation & Safety
Have you led or supported a safety‑first culture in a previous role?
Are you familiar with risk assessments and safe working procedures?
Have you overseen sanitation or deep‑cleaning activities?
Are you confident identifying and addressing hazards on the factory floor?
Systems & Documentation
Are you comfortable completing shift paperwork and digital system inputs accurately?
Are you confident using computers for reporting, logging issues, or updating systems?
Are you able to report IT issues through a helpdesk process?
Essential Skills & Experience
Do you have strong communication and organisational skills?
Are you able to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities?
Are you reliable, methodical, and able to work independently as well as part of a team?
Are you confident working with numbers and basic computer systems?
Are you committed to maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards?
Person Specification-
Experience in the food industry, ideally FMCG.
Knowledge of UNITY systems.
Reach truck, counterbalance, or PPT licence.
Basic Food Hygiene or basic Health & Safety qualification.
Training or coaching experience.
Extra Information
Working Hours are Day Shift - 7am - 7pm (12 hours)
Salary - £37,000 per annum plus 18% shift allowance.
